Assessment application

On principal you are responsible yourself to check and to decide whether:

the electrical and electronic equipment that you are intending to place on the market are subject to ElektroG and/or
you are obligated to register as a producer.

In individual cases it can be difficult to do so. Therefore it is possible in case of doubt to apply for a binding, fee-based certification on your registration obligation – a so-called assessent application – to stiftung ear.

Applying in the ear-Portal

If necessary you can submit an application to the ear-Portal. Hereby it is necessary for you to explain why you presume that a piece of equipment is not subject to ElektroG, or why you think you are not a producer according to ElektroG.

Handling in the ear-Portal

Attention: Certification on the obligation to register can require extensive examination by ear. The fees for such a certificate depend on the effort involved in this examination. You can find the scope of fees in the respectively valid list of fee regulations (ElektroGBattGGebV).
